James Naughton creates breathtaking landscapes that bear the ravages of time and the elements.  These stunning vistas are imposing and intimidating and yet express a sense of wonder through the epic forces of nature.  His paintings always evoke an emotional experience, sometimes even a spiritual response, but James doesn’t feel comfortable with attaching such definitive meanings to his paintings, preferring the work to speak for itself and allowing the individual viewer their own personal dialogue with the image.
