Christmas is traditionally a time for families, parties and joy to all men, but it is also a time of stress and panic during those dark winter days on packed pavements, with everyone trying to find that extra special gift for a loved one.   The Gascoigne gallery is making xmas easy this year, with its beautiful and diverse range of original and affordable paintings and glass sculpture.  The perfect gift will even be wrapped with loving care so that all you have to do is put it under the tree.

The Gascoigne gallery presents original contemporary work by artists who share a common philosophy: to allow the artwork to exist on its own terms and not simply be compared to what we may think of as ‘reality’. The images hover magically between a world which we feel we recognize and one in which our imaginative selves can wander.  The paintings invite you back again and again, to discover something not previously seen, questioning what the artist wishes to communicate to us. The genres of landscape and figuration predominate, aiming to convey the essence and atmosphere of the subject matter rather than describing each minute detail.
