Tony Foster
Tony Foster studied painting at St. Albans and Ravensbourne schools of Art. Since college he has combined painting with a career in the buying and selling of jewellery and clothing and other artefacts from around the world. His travels in India, Afghanistan, Nepal and China have informed and inspired his paintings. Tony has worked illustrating books, magazines and record sleeves.
Tony has had solo exhibitions in The Home Counties and Norfolk, and has taken part in various group shows.
Over the last six years Tony has spent much time at his home on the North Norfolk coast “My work is now involved with exploring the possibilities of interpreting my feelings for this area without attempting a literal representation.”
Working with Acrylic paint and collage Tony builds layers of texture and colour, finding that the nature of the medium and his subject matter allow his paintings to develop organically, enjoying the freedom and increased opportunities this technique offers.
Richard Keeton
Richard was born in Sheffield in 1948. He studied painting at Sheffield College of Art, and printmaking at the Royal College of Art. During this period he spent three months in Paris at the Lacouriere Etching Working in Montmartre. He taught printmaking for several years in Buckinghamshire.
Richard set up his own etching studio in Derbyshire in 1980, publishing his own work and finding a renewed interest in watercolour through painting landscapes of the Peak District. His own work includes etchings, aquatints, drawings and watercolours of a wide range of contemporary images as varied as earth and air, wind and rain, sea, sky, dawning, dusk, poultry, pine trees, feathers and flight.
Richard has exhibited widely throughout England in numerous venues including the Royal Academy of British Artists, The Barbican Centre in London and at many galleries in Europe and the USA. |
