The quality of work by contemporary Russian artists has become increasingly recognised and valued in the West since Perestroika.  In part this is due to the traditional training that Russia artists receive since it results in a rich combination of technical skill and creativity.  Many of the exhibiting artists have been students at the prestigious St Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts which has been responsible for teaching some of the greatest Russian painters of the last two hundred years.

This exhibition includes work by talented younger Russian artists who have already received popular and critical acclaim in this country, as well as launching new artists who have not previously been seen in Britain.
