The art of motoring - original paintings

Gentlemen start your engines and GO, GO, GO down to The Gascoigne gallery for its premiere of motoring art.

During September, The Gascoigne gallery is joining the world of Formula 1, Classic Racing, Rallying and going for pole position with its undeniably magnificent exhibition of motoring art.   Whether you are a couch driver, pit lizard or adrenalin junkie, this is the place to park up, take a break from the highway of life and drink in the classic lines of the vintage vehicles and the dramatic vibrancy of the racing fraternity.

Dramatic, exciting and spectacular!  Three words that to most people describe automotive racing, but to The Gascoigne gallery these three words are as musical to the ear as a V10 engine at full rev’s is to a racing aficionado.

The art of motoring exhibition showcases eight of Great Britain’s most celebrated motoring artists whose work ranges from watercolours of days gone by to the most modern pop art style which spotlights modern racers.  So, jump into your car, hop on a motorbike, catch a cab or ride a bus, but make sure you don’t miss this exciting exhibition of motoring art.

It doesn’t take much to get these extremely passionate and creative men (and woman) onto their favourite subject of motor vehicles, but it is not just the cars that they love, it’s the roar of the engines and the smell of burning rubber, the pure thrill of being “up close and personal” with the action that inspires these petrol heads to capture moments in time of these magnificent machines.

Get off the starting grid and take the chequered flag at the art of motoring exhibition.

A preview of this exhibition is being held at the gallery on Friday 8th September between 19h00 – 21h00, the artists will be present and wine and canapés will be available.  Across the road a range of unique and classic cars will be on display during the preview evening.  Supper and accommodation can be provided by The Crown Hotel.
